Some of these are imports so there is naturally a price premium but the top 3 aren’t. 18 grand to 37 grand? The hell?! I bought mine nearly as clean but more miles for 6. What is going on?

That red one is for sale in my area and it has a diesel swap, so it’s price is not typical. In my AO the gasser 80s are going $3-7k. The J60s are in the teens and the restored J40s are in the $20-30k with beat to hell ones going for $3k-6k. There’s actually an ‘87 diesel going for $12k which seems like a good deal.

You must have a beard and at least a modest trust fund or similar parental largesse to buy one.

yeah I saw the 4bt conversion and build up, but even still, 37 grand is a lot for an expo build, especially one with the tractor engine 4bt that will be slower and louder than the original engine. you can get a very nice imported 1hdt engine 80 series and build it up for that price.

I’m sure it has nothing to do with all of the internet constantly screaming “LAND CRUISERS ARE THE BEST AT EVERYTHING!” combined with declining availability
